Who am I?

Kobe Scales is a sports journalist and recent graduate of Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, where he earned his master's degree. He currently serves as the Communications and Marketing Coordinator for East Coast Power Volleyball, leading the club's digital content strategy, social media, website management, and multimedia storytelling.

Prior to joining East Coast Power, Scales covered Syracuse University athletics for Syracuse247Sports, providing in-depth analysis, breaking news, and comprehensive coverage of the Orange's athletic programs. His reporting experience also includes covering the Washington Commanders for DC News Now, where he produced on-air and digital coverage throughout training camp.

Before enrolling at Syracuse, Scales gained valuable experience in the sports media industry with the Atlanta Falcons, contributing to the team's digital content and media coverage while helping deliver engaging stories and behind-the-scenes coverage for fans. He also worked with HBCU Gameday, covering sports and culture at historically Black colleges and universities, where he reported on major events and highlighted the stories and achievements of HBCU athletes and programs.

Scales is a proud graduate of Morehouse College, where he earned his bachelor's degree. During his time there, he developed his passion for sports storytelling and strengthened his reporting and writing skills. His experience at Morehouse laid the foundation for a career centered on the intersection of sports, culture, and media, which he continued to build through graduate studies at Syracuse University and his work across collegiate and professional sports.
